    Things to consider

    • Educators should consider how this seat will be used within the care environment to maximise children’s participation in the program and to facilitate peer interaction
    • Educators should consult with therapists and parents about whether this seat provides appropriate support for the child and about appropriate timeframes for use of the seat

    Storage and use

    • This equipment can be used indoors or outdoors but must be stored indoors to minimise surface damage.
    • The chair needs to be regularly wiped clean.

    Wheelie Stool

    The Wheelie Stool can be used by adults supporting children with a disability, to allow them to move closer to the child to assist with an activity. The seat is ergonomically-designed for user comfort.

    Sloped Writing Board

    An angled writing board can reduce the need for neck and trunk flexion during tabletop activities e.g. writing or reading. This may help where a child has restricted upper body movement and strength (reduces need for reach, promotes functional hand positions for fine motor tasks) or a visual impairment. It promotes a more upright trunk position, good hand position for drawing activities and may reduce eye strain for visual scanning activities.

    Leckey Squiggles Seating System

    This fully adjustable chair is designed for children between 1 and 5 years. The chair is on castor wheels for ease of movement around the environment.

    This chair can be lowered or raised to enable participation across a range of experiences at a table. It provides a range of head, trunk, leg and foot support. The chair is not designed to be lowered to floor level.
