Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day aims to empower children by instilling pride in their heritage and highlighting the importance of their cultural identity as a sacred, strong and valuable asset.
This year’s theme, Living Our Truth, honours the power of truth-telling, the sharing of knowledge across generations and the importance of telling our stories in ways that strengthen culture, identity and community.
In 1998, the first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day was established. August 4th is the commemorative birthdate given to all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed and displaced from their families, communities, Countries, and Cultures. Whilst birthdays are times to celebrate and create new memories, August 4 is a time for reflection and recognition of all the children who today are known as the Stolen Generation or Stolen Children.

Educators are directly supported by our team of Inclusion Professionals, who are based at Inclusion Hubs across QLD.
Inclusion Professionals recognise that the inclusion journey of each service and educator is unique. The support they provide is tailored to meet the individual needs of each service.
Using a strengths-based approach, including coaching and practical inclusion advice, Inclusion Professionals support services and educators through a combination of phone appointments, online appointments and service visits.
