Description
Standing systems can be used for children who are unable to stand independently, to keep their body in good alignment and posture.
SMART™ Stander by Akces-Med is a sturdy upright standing frame that provides many benefits as it enables a person to adopt an upright position which is safe and comfortable and highly supportive. Both chest and pelvic braces adjust to assist with an upright position with generous room for growth, sizing and adjustment options.

- Can provide opportunities for children to participate independently with peers in experiences where children are standing
- Can be used for individual and/or group experiences
- Supports the child’s body allowing the upper limbs to be free
- Allows the child to see and access the environment at the same height as their peers when standing
Things to consider
- Use of standing frames should only occur for periods of time where the child’s peers are also standing
- Educators should consult with therapists and parents about the amount of time appropriate for use
- Educators need to plan how standing frames will be used in terms of staffing, routines and experiences within the care environment to maximise children’s participation in the program and interaction with peers
Storage and use
- This equipment can be used indoors and outdoors in dry areas but must be stored inside when not in use to minimise surface damage and the stand should be wiped clean after use.

Leckey Prone Stander - Size 1
The Leckey Pronestander is a prone (forward-tilted) upright standing frame suitable for a child who needs support to stand but may not be able to tolerate a fully upright position.
Standing frames can be used for children who are unable to stand independently.
The Leckey Pronestander has a choice of five prone positions from 45° to 85°.

Standing frames can be used for children who are unable to stand independently, to keep their body in good alignment and posture.
The Jenx Multistander is designed for use with children aged between 9 months and 13 years. The frames have an upright design and the height of the frame and leg positions are adjustable without the need to use any tools. A tray comes with this stand, which can be stored when not in use.
