Child Protection Week

In 2025, the National Child Protection Week message is ‘Shifting Conversation to Action’.

This year’s theme highlights that while open discussions are crucial, words alone are not enough: we must turn dialogue into meaningful action.

How are you moving beyond conversations to concrete actions that prevent harm, strengthen support systems, and empower communities to actively protect children?

Buddy Roamer Walker

  • Standing
  • Description

The Buddy Roamer Walker is a posterior walking aid that provides partial weight-bearing postural support.

    Inclusion Possibilities

    • Increase opportunities to participate independently with peers in experiences where children are standing
    • Can be used for individual and/or group experiences
    • Supports the child’s body allowing the upper limbs to be free for use
    • Enables the child to experience the environment at the same level as their peers

    Things to consider

    • Use of standing frames should only occur for periods of time where the child’s peers are also standing
    • Educators should consult with therapists and parents about appropriate timeframes for use

    Storage and use

    • This equipment can be used outdoors but must be stored indoors to minimise surface damage and the stand should be wiped clean after use
